UFO enthusiasts from all over the country will be descending on Exeter New Hampshire next weekend for it's 3rd Annual Exeter UFO festival on Saturday September 3rd,2011.
The festival which was created by local Writer and UFO Researcher Dean Merchant is a free, non-profit community event that celebrates Exeter's UFO heritage, specifically the legendary "Incident At Exeter" UFO encounters, as well as the Betty and Barney Hill abduction case.
Returning as the M.C. of the festival will be Tim Binall, host of the award-winning Esoteric Podcast Binall Of America. He will be presenting some of the best authors, researchers, and investigators in the field, who will be speaking about the UFO phenomenon and NH UFO cases. The list of speakers this year includes Stanton Friedman, Richard Dolan, and Kathleen Marden.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Betty and Barney Hill's abduction in the White Mountains of NH, and they will be posthumously inducted into the Exeter UFO Festival Hall Of Fame. Both Friedman and Marden's lectures will discuss the Hills' abduction case.
There will also be a world premiere of the new independent documentary film "Strange Septembers", directed by Jeff and Jess Finn, which examines the Exeter and Hill cases and includes interviews with family members of Muscarello, the Hills, and the investigators that worked on the cases.
In addition to the lectures and film premiere there will also be plenty of activities for kids in Founders park, including a Story Circle, face painting, crafts, games, buckets of chalk throughout the city for kids to draw ET and UFO pictures, and building a UFO out of recyclables in the "Alien crash site and debris field". There is also a self-guided UFO safari, and the popular Alien Pet Costume Contest will also be returning.
The entire festival is free, funded by donations and the sale of souvenir t-shirts. All the proceeds of the t-shirts after festival expenses go to local charities. Last year's proceeds went to Big Brothers Big Sisters, The New Outlook Teen Center, and to local families in need.
Whether you're a UFO buff or new to the subject, the Exeter UFO festival is a great event to learn more about the UFO phenomenon and New Hampshire's place in UFO history.
